Hello,
I have been out of the loop with the newest laptops/notebooks.
I am researching various brand name laptops/notebooks that can be found and bought in retail
local stores (Southern CA, USA) to see and buy. They will have to be PCs and come with all the
usual features for today’s computer usage. Prices should be low as possible and the unit should
be light to carry for travelling. Computer gaming is not part of the requirements.
Thank you in advance.

*Way* too broad of a question.
"… come with all the usual features…"
Be more specific.
"Prices should be low as possible…"
Be more specific.
"… the unit should be light to carry for travelling."
Be more specific.
Notice a pattern? <g>

Basically, everything for a business user.

OK, let’s try $2,000.

World-wide travelling. Don’t want a heavy computer to carry.

Yeah, but the person who asked me to find wasn’t specific enough.

I traded in my 1 year old toshiba, (junk) and got an HP, comes with a 3 year
warranty, ordered it on a Sunday night, got it on Tuesday morning!

Since you’re a business user, it may be possible to get away with an
older laptop. This is kind of guessing at your intentions, but for,
say, standard office suite, internet usage, etc, it won’t be
necessary to have a particularly powerful machine. You could probably
get a decent older laptop for <$1000 used, just make sure if you do
buy used that its a reputable seller and in good condition.
Oh, and try checking manufacturer-specific sections on this board to
make sure there’s no fatal flaws (ex: power jack failures on HP
Pavilions).
